Dr. Avril Smart Goggans

Dr. Avril Smart Goggans is a Business Consultant with over 20 years of experience working in the education sector. Her work has supported organizations across the spectrum from K-12, Institutions of Higher Education, to national for-profit organizations dedicated to supporting education access and opportunity. Her leadership converges her skills as an educator, researcher, policy analyst, strategist, and advisor to make meaningful impact on issues of equity in education, student persistence, and access. She previously served as the Director of Evaluation Operations at Western Governors University, and currently supports National University’s newest endeavor to create the Cause Research Institute designed to prepare tomorrows leaders to generate tangible real-world solutions that impact their communities. Dr. Smart Goggans holds both Masters and Doctoral degrees from North Carolina State University, and she is a proud graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.
